PREVAILING WINDS:
LOCAL CHARACTER: Located in the Coastal Range along Highway 101 west of Clear Lake. Recreation and some agricultural activity characterize the area. Agricultural activity includes Cow/calf operations, sheep, pears and increasingly, wine grapes.

DESCRIPTION OF STATION SITE:
The station is located on the upper reaches of the Hopland Field Station operated by the University of California. It is installed in a 30`x30` livestock proof wire enclosure on the side of a hill. The site has mixed grasses that are not irrigated.
